Make Disciples of All Nations...
"In view of our plans to develop a mentoring ministry, I have been reflecting on our call to make disciples as Christians and what that means exactly. In order to answer that question adequately, we of course must look to Christ Himself, the one who calls us to this charge. Jesus mentored people; He called 12 men specifically, invited them into His life, and proceeded to live the Gospel before them both in word and deed. The reality of ministry is this; it is much easier to make "converts" than disciples because the former requires a one time profession and the latter, a life-long journey with the individual. Christ spent 3 years with 12 men, full-time and in the end, they still failed to fully grasp the essence of the Gospel even after His post-resurrection appearances. As believers we must understand this reality as we serve our Saviour in the power of the Spirit."
